The origins of Country Roads started with a love of antiques, a flair for decorating and a passion for small business. Before we were Country Roads, we were Battered Barn Antiques, a small shop opened in 1992 on N. Glassell. We quickly outgrew that space, and the availability of the space on the corner of Chapman and Olive provided us with a chance to grow, and from that Country Roads was born.
We opened our doors on a very rainy first of January in 1993, and have been in the heart of Old Town Orange ever since. Our matriarch, Sue Jackson, may no longer be with us, but her kids, her grandkids, and her ‘non biological kids’ are all working together to keep the shop – her pride, joy and passion of nearly 30 years – alive.
